Tribute Giving

Thousands of people each year use our tribute giving program to celebrate, honor or memorialize loved ones by making gifts in their name.

From tributes that mark an important occasion to memorials that perpetuate the legacy of someone who has passed away, these gifts are significant sources of support for the system’s innovative programs.

We also offer the opportunity to continually honor/memorialize someone special on plaques in our various care facilities as well as through memorial services. This type of donation is available through our Hospice and Centers for Caring Funds.

Gifts in Memory
A Gift in Memory is a very special way for family and friends to express their sympathy while helping Metropolitan Jewish Health System Foundation (MJHSF) advance health care. Many people choose to make these gifts in lieu of flowers. The Foundation will acknowledge all donations given in memory by a letter to the person you indicate with an expression of sympathy.

You can advise friends and family how to make this tribute in the obituary: “The family requests that any donations please be made online at MJHSFoundation.org or sent to the Metropolitan Jewish Health System Foundation, 440 Ninth Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10001-1620. Please note on the check that it is a memorial for (name).”

Gifts in Honor
A Gift in Honor can acknowledge the work of a clinician or other staff member who deserves extra recognition for his or her compassion and commitment. These gifts offer individual grateful patients and their families the chance to show their appreciation for the outstanding care offered by a physician, nurse, pastor or social worker.

Gifts in Celebration
A Gift in Celebration is a unique opportunity to let family members, friends or colleagues know that you are thinking of them. These gifts are often made to mark an important event like the birth of a child or grandchild, a wedding, anniversary, graduation, retirement, holiday or another memorable occasion. MJHSF will send a letter to the individual being honored to acknowledge your thoughtfulness.

When you make your gift, please provide the name of the person being honored, as well as the type of occasion (such as a birthday or an anniversary). Please indicate the names and addresses of those you would like MJHSF to notify of your gift, such as the honorees themselves or their family members.
