Father Holding Son Close

Today, as one of the largest and most respected pediatric programs in Greater New York, we focus on the clinical aspects of easing discomfort for young and illness-weakened bodies and provide our pediatric patients with emotional, spiritual and psychosocial support tailored to fit the needs of each family.

Special programs supported by the pediatric fund include:

Art & Soul™ Creative Arts Therapy

Art & Soul™ Creative Arts Therapy distinguishes the MJHS Pediatric program. Our program employs specially trained and licensed music and art therapists to meet the psychological and emotional needs of pediatric patients, their siblings and family members. The creative arts therapy team uses music, art and other creative approaches to create a safe space for children and their families to:

  • Create legacy projects
  • Work through and express their emotions
  • Receive age-appropriate grief and loss support
  • Get counseling to develop healthy coping skills
  • Lay the groundwork for bereavement

Build-a-Memory

The MJHS Build a Memory program is designed to offer our pediatric hospice and palliative care patients extraordinary experiences — while creating enduring memories for their families. These experiences enable our patients and their families to create legacy experiences, express a full range of emotions, and spend joy-filled time with family outside of a medical and clinical setting.

Patient Care Fund

The Patient Care Fund is dedicated to meeting the health and quality of life care needs for the patients and families of MJHS. Funded solely by charitable contributions, the fund is able to assist in the purchase of items and services deemed appropriate by the patient, patient’s family and MJHS caregivers, such as wheel chairs, walkers or grab bars. Each patient is eligible for up to $500 of assistance annually through the fund.

Your contribution ensures the continuation of these services for children and their families in New York.

MJHS Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization. (Tax Id: 11-1630753) All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
